The mission of the Midwest Tactical Officer Association is the following:

To foster an exchange of ideas and information within the field of tactics and operations in police work.
To foster friendship and cooperation among the personnel of the different membership's departments and agencies.
To stimulate research and the development of new methods, operations, techniques, procedures, and equipment within the field of police work
To encourage the record keeping of information and data of value in the field of police tactics
To encourage a high level of professional competence among members, departments and agencies.
To lend assistance and support in the formation of training programs.
To lend assistance and support in the development of new tactical teams.
